The two of us
In 2019, we met by chance at a meeting of the GGAL (Young Adults Group) of the Italian Catholic Mission in Lausanne, to celebrate Christmas together, before returning to Italy for the holidays.
We immediately formed a sincere bond and a strong friendship that brought us together, especially during the pandemic when we were in lockdown in two different parts of Europe (Bea in Lausanne and Aldo first in Sweden and then in Belgium).
Despite our diverse cultural backgrounds - Aldo being a creative IT consultant and Beatrice being a research scientist inclined towards mathematics and science - we connected through some common passions, such as our love for cooking, music, and one of our favorite hobbies: building with Legos.
From there, a strong friendship began that lasted for about two years and gradually evolved into a great love. Our journey as a couple began after Aldo returned to Switzerland in 2021 when we had more opportunities to share experiences and time together, often spending our weekends preparing traditional Italian recipes (such as homemade lasagna, gnocchi, and other delicacies).
In 2022, we decided to move in together with the goal of finding our ideal place, which is now in Basel.
Over the past 3 years, we have achieved many milestones: stable and satisfying jobs for both of us, sharing passions, music festivals, tuning events, museums, plenty of good food, and daily life in harmony. In 2024, in addition to getting married, we also managed to fulfill our dream of buying a house together, which will soon become our safe haven. Our marriage will mark the beginning of our new family.
For this special day, we wanted our closest relatives and friends to celebrate with us, making this event an unforgettable memory for everyone.
